The COOCARAM – Cooperative of Organized Rural Producers to Help Each Other, is located in Ji-Paraná, Rondônia, Western Amazon – Brazil. Nowadays we cooperated and 336 cooperative and 10% women.
Cultivate coffee on 1,200 hectares (mostly in cafes Conillon sort of), the cooperative properties have 4,000 hectares of Amazon forest protected.
Not only are we not beginning by agroecological and market trend, but as a matter of conscience for the preservation of the planet. Today 30% of properties are agroecological of Ecocert-certified organic (in the process of certification).
The first farmers began over 20 years and today there are people coming. The whole cycle of production – in terms of climate change – and market point to the transitional agroecological adding more and more farmers.
Besides the production COOCARAM has a processing plant with capacity of 25 tonnes roast and grind coffee for months, which supplies the local market of Rondônia.
